From The Australian Consulate-General:

Dear ANZAC Day Participant,

I hope this finds you, your staff and your families, safe and well.

Unfortunately, due to Illinois and Chicago’s rules on gatherings and social distancing due to COVID-19, The Australian Consulate-General has decided we are not able to hold our annual ANZAC Day commemoration this year.  Disappointing indeed, but certainly understandable given the current situation across the globe and Government’s best practices on how to handle the spread of the virus.

We have appreciated your involvement in the past and look forward to working with you again regarding ANZAC Day 2021.

On a bright note, there will live-stream of an ANZAC Day Service for all across the world should anyone wish to pay homage.  Timing and web-link to be confirmed closer to the 25th April, but more information can be found here:  https://usa.embassy.gov.au/events/join-us-online-anzac-day-2020.  We will also post the web-link for the live-stream on social media once it is available.

Best regards, stay healthy and good luck with the remainder of 2020.
